MITSUI OCEAN CRUISES announced 27 new sailings for the 2027 cruise season aboard MITSUI OCEAN FUJI and MITSUI OCEAN SAKURA, inviting discerning North American travelers to experience the sought-after destination of Japan through the lens of a Japanese cruise line deeply rooted in its culture and seafaring heritage.



Spanning February through September 2027, these five- to 12-night itineraries showcase Japan’s ever-changing landscapes, treasured traditions, and regional diversity, from snow festivals and cherry blossoms to summer fireworks and autumn harvests. An early booking offer of up to $1,000 onboard credit is available on all cruises booked by September 30, 2026.*

Highlights of the upcoming February – September 2027 cruise season, include ports of call unique to MITSUI OCEAN CRUISES, rarely visited by international lines, including:
•    Nanao, a charming coastal port on the Noto Peninsula and part of the Noto Satoyama Sea. A UNESCO-recognized agricultural heritage area, Nanao is celebrated for its harmonious blend of traditional farming, fishing, and natural landscapes. 
•    Shodoshima serves as the main maritime gateway to Shodoshima Island, connecting visitors and cargo to a destination renowned for its olive cultivation, traditional soy sauce brewing, and Mediterranean-like scenic landscapes in the Seto Inland Sea.
•    Tanegashima is a key transportation and logistics hub for the island, supporting local industry and tourism while providing access to Japan’s primary space launch facility at the Tanegashima Space Center.
•    Tottori is best known for the sweeping Tottori Sand Dunes, Japan’s largest dune system, this port offers a unique desert-like landscape along the Sea of Japan. Nearby, the Sand Museum showcases impressive, large-scale sculptures crafted entirely from sand, making it a distinctive cultural attraction.

•    Tohoku Festival & Tateyama Fireworks – 7 nights – August 2-9, 2027:  Sailing from Tokyo to Akita, Aomori, Tateyama and returning to Yokohama
